My Story: I am a former welfare, food stamp mother who became a human rights worker at the age of 18. I have addressed human rights issues both in the electoral and non-electoral arena in the streets, the courts, and the university classroom, where I was a Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Chicano Studies. I've written several books and article on racism and sexism and am now a retire university professor engage in research and publish speaking on the topics of SW Hispanic/Chicano and Chicana history; Babyboomer and Social Change; Aging.
